Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Princeton and Rutgers Neurology has moved to telemedicine for the majority of appointments. There is no wait time for virtual appointments!
As healthcare providers your health and safety remain very important to us, which is why we are committed to keeping your upcoming appointments. We encourage all patients with an upcoming appointment or those who are interested in a new patient appointment, to contact our scheduling department at (732) 246-1311, option 3 to learn more and to schedule your virtual visit.
We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation daily but at this time are unable to provide a definitive date to when we will open our offices again. To prevent any delay in your care we strongly suggest moving to telemedicine during this difficult time.
We do have one doctor in the office who is still seeing both new and follow up patients if you wish to still be seen in person. We ask that if you do prefer this over a virtual visit that you please follow our check in guidelines as outlined below.
HOW TELEMEDICINE WORKS:
Telemedicine is simple for both the provider and the patient. It is a virtual, remote face to face visit. For your convenience we are currently offering virtual visits on several platforms including Zoom, Duo, and FaceTime. Please click here for detailed instructions on how to use the app “Zoom” for telemedicine appointments. Our scheduling department will be able to assist you in setting up this appointment and answer any questions you may have.
INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TELEMEDICINE:
Medicare announced last week that they are covering telemedicine. All commercial insurances have informed us that they are as well, but to be safe, please check with your commercial insurance carrier directly. Horizon BCBS and Aetna are waiving all copays for Telemedicine visits. Others may as well.
Certain tests will still be run in the office. These include: EEGs, carotid doppler studies, video electronystograms as well as repositioning maneuvers.
CHECK IN PROCEDURE:
For the health and safety of one another we ask that if you are coming into the office for a scheduled NEW PATIENT or TESTING appointment that you call from your vehicle when you arrive. You will be checked in via telephone with our receptionist and our medical assistant will call you back when we are able to bring you to an exam room. During this time we will continue to restrict the number of people in our clinical area to the patient and one caretaker only.
FOR MORE INFORMATION:
Our office staff will still be available via telephone Monday through Friday 9:00AM – 3:45PM for any concerns you may have. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated about when a return to a full opening will be possible.
Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. Be well.
